17-20 July 2025 – Festival to dance together – Röthenbach im Emmental

A festival to dance together

At our festival you can get to know and experience various folk and standard dances in workshops during the day and continue dancing in the evening with live music and practice them in a different atmosphere.

The festival day …

… begins at 9 am with a workshop to smoothly wake up your body (e.g. yoga). Then the dance workshops follow. After the lunch break further dance workshops take place, and at the end you can relax again (e.g. stretching).

The workshops take place simultaneously in three big tents, which are open to all sides. This means: you always have the choice between 3 different dances and can decide and also change spontaneously in between.

The evening program starts at 8:30 pm with a short show, where professionals manifest their skills and where other surprises are presented. Then starts the first ball or concert, closely followed by the second and third – on Friday and Saturday the dancing and celebrating usually continues until after 3 am.

You can participate in the balls and concerts whenever you want or just watch if you feel like it. The dance steps, which were learned during the day or the day before, certainly fit to the music. If you’re still unsure, simply copy from your neighbour and let yourself be guided and carried away.

Moving Encounters

The festival is a place where many different people come together. It is a place to discover, learn, exchange skills and simply have a lot of fun together with dance and music!

„Vertanzt“ is …

  • for everybody: young & old, experienced dancers or those with two left feet
  • in big tents on a meadow in a beautiful landscape
  • in a summery open-air atmosphere
  • with a varied programme
  • without the need to bring a dancing partner
  • at affordable prices

We are an international festival and communicate as much as we can multilingually – or with hands and feet, meaning dancing. Our festival cultivates its local roots. We look for regional suppliers whenever possible and attach importance to good networking and cooperation with the host community. Our organisation is based on voluntary work and equality of all participants. Out of this philosophy, the musicians and dance teachers – called artists by us – do not receive a direct monetary remuneration, but unforgettable days together in the Emmental. A large number of volunteers make the festival possible. Interested in volunteering with our festival organisation?

Tickets

Vertanzt offers day tickets, which allow you to participate in every workshop and concert, from early till late. There is no need to register for the workshops.

There are also single evening tickets for only the concerts and balls available. Please buy them directly at the festival and only for the same evening (admission from 7:30 pm). So you can join the evening events the day of your arrival and locals can come over after their working day. The day ticket always includes the evening.

At first we only sell 3-day and 4-day tickets. Tickets for shorter stays will be available at a later date. This allows us to regulate the number of visitors and observe a certain limit.

Starting this year, children between 7 and 12 also need a ticket. Children up to 6 years still participate for free.

You want to be sure to take part at the festival? Then book a 4-day-pass or register as a volunteer. Persons who volunteer for one or two days can already purchase tickets for the other festival days when they do not volunteer. For more information please contact our volunteer manager Raffael.

  • You can buy tickets for 1, 2, 3 or all 4 days. You can buy them without a specified date,  so you can use them whenever you want.
  • Multi-day tickets are only valid on consecutive days.
  • Additional tickets that you buy later can not be taken into account for a multi-day ticket, meaning they cost the full price for 1, 2 or 3 days.
  • The presale tickets will be converted into a bracelet at the festival ticket office. Your bracelet will be the real entry ticket.
  • Tickets can not be exchanged. Unused presale tickets can be transferred to another person.
  • There are reduced prices for children (7-12), teenagers (13-18), students with student ID card (up to 30), residents of Röthenbach i. E., holders of Kulturlegi and association members: choose the applicable ticket category and show your proof of eligibility at the ticket office.
  • Children up to the age of 6 do not need a ticket. However they still have to register at the ticket office, so that we can check the age and issue a bracelet.
